IIIegal or Unethical Activities- Please Let Me Know ASAP

Chances are when you see something too good to be true- that's exactly what you have seen- something too good to be true. A new member had added a forum on a "Gifting Club", which I have since deleted. They are illegal in the USA Canada and I believe in the UK to mention just a few of the Countries our brothers and sister reside in. An old metaphyscial teacher of ours invited us to join one of these clubs some years ago. The principle seemed sound - but something didn't seem right either. We didn't trust our, "Gut feeling" as the invitation came from what we believed to be- a reliable trustworthy source- we found out too late it was illegal and didn't check into to it-until we'd sent our money off...and you've guessed it... didn't get a penny back in return. So, we know first hand- it's foolish to get involved with these types of things.

If you see anything on here- that is not of love & light, offensive in anyway, or just doesn't seem right to you. Please let me know as soon as possible. Please don't assume I've read it already- sometimes it takes a while for me to get to all of the posts. I could use your eyes and ears on here to assist me with this kind of thing. If it doesn't seem seem or feel right to you- you have my assurance I will look into the matter ASAP. I won't mention your name unless you tell me it's okay to let our brothers and sister know who helped us in this matter.

I got into one of those without following my instincts earlier this year because the invitation had come from a man who I believed had integrity since he is a pastor and business owner. I was wrong! Every time he sends me an offer to join his new business opportunity my skin crawls. Before you get into something like this think about the irreparable damage you may be doing to your reputation. It isn't worth it!

Thanks for keeping an eye on these things Anne-Marie. I was also offered the opportunity to join many such scams in the past. I refused all such offers. Others find appeal in them because who would not like to suddenly get a bunch of money? But in all cases, the people who bought in were sorry. And some got arrested. Remember the old adage: Any thing that sounds too good to be true probably is.

In my opinion most MLM things fall into the same deceptive category. Numerous people have invited me to join their MLM networks, and I always seem to be able to find comparable products outside of an MLM network for less money. Although MLMs are not illegal, they contain many deceptive practices. Another common one is when they are trying to recruit new people for their downline, they paint a rosy picture of how much money everyone is making, when in reality very few of their members ever make that much, and in fact, most will drop out.

not sure but i think its illegal over this side of the pond. there are many scams going around. mostly postal going after old vunrable people.

Hi Anne, I have just read the book 'Blink' and following your gut instincts on the spur of the moment is a good thing. The song spending most our lives living in a gangsters paradise springs to mind. Also that there are some people out there with (R)eversed Souls that as Lewis Carol wrote about in his book Alice in Wonder Land and they appear to be living their lives through the looking glass and be experiencing their life in this way. Cooperation and symbioses is the only way forward for us all, as this is the way of ways. Steve

Hi Anne Marie,

I'm glad that you saw through that scam;actually, I haven't heard of that one.I have been taken by a few so called psychics who were just praying on people.I'm very careful now and wary of these things.When economic times are as they are now, they come out of the woodwork.Snopes is a good place to look every so often to see what scams are out there are out there at any given time.

The member that posted this "Gifting club" was asked to remove all references to his website that promoted this scam today or I would ban him from our site. He left us today without a word. What does that tell us? I guess that tells us, we shared too much light with him.
