Chart Signatures
Have you heard of "balancing a chart?" or "Chart Signatures?"
This is an astrological way to get a snapshot of a person's soul from his or her chart.
It is a way to read a chart with only knowledge of the planets, signs and elements.
There are plenty of online sites where you can get a free graph of your natal chart.
With this information I am providing you today, you can read your chart.
Today, I am going to teach you how to do this using my chart. It is fairly easy and an accurate way to sum up someone's personality. Often, this energy is stronger than the Sun Sign.
It is also telling what is missing from the person's chart especially when it comes to relationships. This person may seek the element he/she is missing through friends and partners.
First, I will teach you how to do this, and then I will tell you what I am missing from my chart, if you didn't figure it out already.
Your Astrology Chart looks like a pie sliced into 12 pieces. These 12 pieces are the Houses. There are 10 planets, 12 houses, and 12 signs.
When balancing a person's chart, you will look at the 10 planets including the Sun and the Moon, 12 signs, and the South Node, and the Ascendant.
Within each sign, there is energy, quality, and element.
The Energy is either Masculine or Feminine. In other words, it is internal or external
energy.
Masculine signs are: Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.
Feminine signs are: Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, and Pisces.
The Quality is Cardinal, Fixed, or Mutable.
Cardinal signs begin the four seasons. They initiate projects, businesses, etc. They are the leaders. CAPRICORN, ARIES, CANCER, LIBRA
Fixed signs are in the middle of each season. They preserve each season.
These people "keep things as they are." They are consistent, reliable, and persistent
AQUARIUS, TAURUS, LEO, SCORPIO
Mutable signs are during the change of each season. They are about transition.
They are the most flexible and adaptible. PISCES, GEMINI, VIRGO, SAGITTARIUS
Signs that share a quality, share certain characteristics.
People who are most successful in business have a good balance of CARDINAL and
FIXED in their chart.
Idea People have a lot of CARDINAL and MUTABLE in their chart. They can
"go with the flow." They are highly adaptible people.
Next, we want to look at the ELEMENTS in a chart.
The Elements are FIRE, EARTH, AIR, and WATER. Most of you
are probably somewhat aware of what it means to be a Fiery Sign or a
Water Sign. We are digging deeper here, and we are looking to find out
what element overpowers the rest in your chart, or if there is a nice balance
of all four elements. Are you missing any elements?
FIRE is energetic, courageous, and passionate.
Fire Signs are Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius
EARTH is practical, stable, hardworking, and grounded.
Earth Signs are Capricorn, Taurus, and Virgo
AIR is intellectual, social, and rational. They are the Thinkers.
Air Signs are Aquarius, Gemini, and Libra
WATER is emotional, intuitive, and compassionate.
Water Signs are Pisces, Cancer, and Scorpio
If you lack either Fire, Earth, Air, or Water in your chart, you will probably
seek a relationship with this element.
You will also take into consideration where most of the planets are located....on the bottom half, the top half, to the left or to the right.
Also, what signs and elements are absent from this person's chart?
We also want to look at the South Node because this is the energy that this person has from many lifetimes. This is the energy that this person is most comfortable with in this lifetime also. In my case, my South Node is in Scorpio. This makes me magnetic, intuitive, and a bit of a manipulator. It also gives me a fondness for the mystical and the occult.
Looking at my chart, I will go from left to right starting in the center at the ascendant.
Most of my planets are on the bottom half of my chart. This is called the "Night Half."
I am naturally, an introverted, guarded person, but I am now overcoming this in my lifetime
as Catherine.
My Ascendant or Rising Sign is CANCER. This was the sign that was rising over the Eastern Horizon when I was born.
If you were to look up at the sky the moment you take your first breath, that snapshot mirrors your soul.
Cancer Rising is a Water and a Cardinal Sign.
Jupiter in Cancer in the 1st House is also a Water and a Cardinal Sign.
Mars in Cancer in the 2nd House is also a Water and a Cardinal Sign.
Venus in Leo is a Fire and a Fixed Sign.
Mercury in Leo is a Fire and a Fixed Sign.
My Sun in Virgo in the 3rd House is an Earth and a Mutable Sign.
My Pluto in Virgo in the 4th House is an Earth and a Mutable Sign.
My Uranus in Virgo in the 4th House is an Earth and a Mutable Sign.
My Neptune in Scorpio in the 5th House is a Water and a Fixed Sign.
My South Node in Scorpio in the 5th House is a Water and a Fixed Sign.
My Moon in Sagittarius in the 6th House is a Fire and Mutable Sign.
My Saturn in Pisces in the 10th House is a Water and Mutable Sign.

I have 7 feminine and 5 masculine signs.
I have 4 each of cardinal, fixed and mutable.
I am strong in water with 5, 3 fire, 2 earth and 2 air.
So i guess my signature is a scribble of Scorpio Cancer and pisces
btw My sun is Scorpio and moon is Cancer and no planets in Pisces.

Hi, Stephen. You have more receptive energy......you attract what you need instead of going out and aggressively getting it. You possess balanced qualities. You are definitely a Water signature....
and you are correct with balanced qualities, you could be either a Scorpio or Cancer signature.
This would clue me in that you are a passionate family person with intuitive abilities and dreams.
You are more emotional and romantic than most, and very intense. What sign was your South Node?

Thanks Catherine, I haven't been able to find a birth chart that shows the south node. One I did get included a node in Cancer but I believe that was the north node. I used that in my calculation above.

I think you are correct. If they only show one node, it is usually, the North. I don't include the North Node because that is what our soul aspires to be.........our goals and aims, and we may not be there yet.

Welcome, Lucy. I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. I was traveling and moving these past weeks. Has anyone done your chart yet? Ther are planets in various signs scattered throughout your chart. If so, you count up all of the water (Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio) signs in your chart, the air signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra), the earth signs (Capricorn, Taurus,Virgo), and fire signs (Sagittarius, Leo, Aries).
After counting the various signs in my own chart, I discovered that I had an overabundance of water.
I also discovered that I had no air signs in any planets.
Then, you want to find out if your chart is mostly mutable, cardinal or fixed. The mutable signs are
Pisces, Gemini,Virgo, Sagittarius. The cardinal signs are Capricorn, Cancer, and Aries, Libra. The Fixed signs are Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius. You find this out by counting how many of these qualities are in your chart by its sign. When I was finished counting all of the signs in my chart by their qualities, I had an overabundance of Mutable energy. This is the Communicator energy.
Cardinal signs have mover and shaker energy. They start things. They take action. Where you have these signs in your chart is where you have the energy to motivate yourself to take action and get things done. It is the area in your life where you like to run things.
Fixed signs like stability, and they like to own things. They like to be the boss and let the cardinal signs run things for them. Wherever Fixed signs are located in your chart are areas where you won't buckle under pressure. You will stand firm and remain stubborn.
Mutable signs like to communicate. While Cardinal signs are taking action and Fixed signs are developing what the Cardinal signs start, the Mutable signs are talking about what the Cardinal signs and Fixed signs are doing. Mutable signs are adaptable and willing to compromise, and we need them to keep the Cardinal and Fixed signs from killing each other. LOL Mutable signs are people loving signs and usually avoid stepping on someone else's toes. Mutable signs will stay with something as long as they remain interested. Wherever you have these signs in your chart, you will find the areas where you are willing to adapt and talk things over.
After counting the various qualities in my own birth chart, I discovered that Mutable energy outnumbered Cardinal and Fixed.
I was left with WATER and MUTABLE.
I knew I had a Pisces chart signature because Pisces is the Mutable Water sign.
