Balanced Diet
Avoid junk food like the PLAGUE. Seriously, if it requires a food label it probably has food additives, most of which I believe are very poisonous to your psyche and 6th sense. Eat foods in season and in harmony with nature as much as possible.
If you can't pronounce it..don't ingest it as it probably won't digest well at all.
Avoid eating processed foods, low carb, low fat foods. These have usually been altered from their original state. Suffer from, "Feeling foggy or bloated" this could be the reason why. They are quite often loaded with chemicals to make them taste good. Try bagging your own lunch instead of grabbing a bagged lunch from the local fast food chain.
Watch out for "High fructose corn syrup"..It's in most things including coke these day. I believe there is a direct link between when this substance been added to our food supply and the climbing rate of obesity in the USA.
Next time you buy cooking oil buy Olive Oil...Costco and discount closeout stores sell it quite cheaply. It's great for cooking & salads :)
Little changes over time are best. If you like sweet drinks, try sweetening your drinks with honey. It has a lot of health benefits and the body breaks it down really easy. Swap your candy bar for a piece of fruit. You'll find it more satisfying.
Swap out store bought sodas for home made. Try a 1/4 cup of juice and top it up with seltza or soda water.
Drink at least 8 glasses of water with a touch of lemon juice in each day. The lemon juice helpd alkalize your body. ( Most deseases like an acidic enviroment).
Thank you for the info about "pop" that is my biggest weakness. I've been growing my own veggies, to help my kids and myself eat better (plus cut cost at the grocery store).

Soda is the number one "bad" drink. Fortunately I never drank it. When I was a teen I heard it gave you pimples (just a little vain :) ) But hey it worked. Enjoy your food and cherish each bite that helps as well. Bon Appetite
Hi Marie! It's very interesting what you talk; in fact, i believe in Bio ecological products, it's one source natural of nutrishing our body; tofu, seitan, the protein vegetal.
But...it's true, some times we don't eat what real needs our bodies, like trangenics modifies...drinks very sweet or with gas...and we must pay attention what we eat because, is like the example of the cars, without gasoil their doesn't works, so if we don't eat correctly, our systel doesn't work too.
Thanks for making this blog so interesting!!!!
Good week!!!!
Anne Marie, When making the "not pop" :-). What size glass, or does it depend on your our taste? I mentioned this to my kids and they are really excited to try it. Thank you.
Jessica
Sorry...it was for a A tall glass... if you use a shorter glass..then just enough juice to cover the bottom of the glass ( 1/2 inch). My boys used to love it when they were little....we did a taste test between fanta ( orange soda), and home made orange juice soda..The home made one beat the store bought soda hands down!
Enjoy :)
This might seem like a silly question, but I haven't bought those kind of drinks before. Sparkling water and Seltza Water are they the same thing? I did buy both sparking/soda water and I liked it better with soda water. My daughters really liked it also.

I really enjoy drinking the soda juice, kids are getting there! I could feel a huge difference, I lapsed and had a soda the other day and could feel a difference on how I felt. I will be keeping that on hand, thanks for the idea!!
Unsweet tea is fine as long as you brew it from fresh. Alternatively, you could try herbal teas. I like chamomile when I'm winding down..and a green tea with ginsing during the day..helps keep you charged and sweet. If you tired and need energy herba-mate works just like coffee ( without the caffeine).
There is an added bonus for eating healthy, drinking water and staying away from the caffinee. Sorry guy but this might help your spouses. I know from my own experience that when I started going these steps I have noticed a weight loss, but an even bonus was my monthly cycle. I use to be in so much pain that all I wanted to do was stay in bed and crawl to any other room in my house, but since I've been doing those thing my pain as lowered dramanticly ( not sure on spelling). I've felt great!! I've been sleeping so much better. Just a little note to other ladies in the group.

Great information! I was suffering from depression, anxiety and panic for a long time. I started making changes last Christmas, the first thing that I removed from my diet was soda, I had some reactions, but eventually they calmed down. Then I removed alcohol, no reactions there. In jan I stopped buying boxed meals and pre-packaged foods. Although here we are a year later and I still get flack from my kids about, but they are healthier now than ever before... with more energy, clearer skin and eyes and they sleep better.
I am trying to move myself to a more raw diet - but it is a slow process.
