The purpose of Grounding is to anchor you, calm you, relieve you of excess energy. Only the Earth can ground you hence the word "Ground".

There are many different techniques to ground, the one I am using for the class is one of the most commonly used.


Sit with your legs uncrossed, feet flat on the floor without any shoes on.
Sit with your back straight, hands palm down on your thighs.
Start relaxing your whole being.. with slow breaths breathing in through your nose,
hold count 1, 2, 3 and out through your mouth., breath in through your nose hold count 1,2, 3 and out through your mouth, breath in through your nose hold count 1, 2, 3 and out through your mouth.. Breath in through your nose hold, count 1,2, 3 and out through your mouth. Breath in through your nose hold, count 1, 2, 3 and out through your mouth.

Now imagine your Crown chakra, opening up like a rose bud.. I will give you a few moments to visualise this.......

Allow bright cleansing, white light to pour through your Crown chakra (located: top of your head)

The next step slowly, you'll be able to do it very quickly with practice. Remember its better to take your time and do these exercises correctly then rush them



Beginners (unsure of chakras) Please take your time, Now direct the light straight down the middle of your body to your base/ root chakra. (located bottom of the spine).

Intermediate (familiar of chakras) Direct the light down through the centre of your body spinning each chakra in a clockwise direction with the light as you go past each chakra to your base / root chakra. Third eye then passing Throat, Heart, Solar Plexis, Sacral, Root Chakras

When you are ready to continue please let me know.

Now send this light down each leg and through your feet into the earth, hold it there for a moment and visualise the soil and grass between your toes. You are connecting with the earth.

Then take the light, like roots, down deeper into the earth, until you feel completely anchored.

You are now grounded...


The purpose of protection...
Let's say someone gets in an argument, they produce energy.. which is why you can feel 'tension' in a room.. now if you weren't there for the fight and came in later the energy residue and stuff would still be floating around and it could get onto and into your energy, This exercise will protect you against this.

When doing spiritual work protection will work in the same theory as above it will protect you from negative / dark energy.


There are different colours you can protect yourself with, I personally use white for everyday. If I am doing spiritual work I prefer to use Pink / blue. Today's class we will use the colour white.

White - Total and utter protection - a strong, white, bright shell around you.

Pink - A Fuzzy pink shell that allows you to empathically feel people, but not take on their emotions. It is a good colour in a situation where you wish to give and receive freely, but still have an element of protection.

Blue - An electric blue shell is powerful protection, but also ensures that you communicate and speak your own truth. Do not use Blue then be dishonest - otherwise you'll be bashing away at your own throat chakra.

Rainbow - Do the exercise with each chakra colour in turn, surrounding yourself in seven bubbles of light. This is a fantastic cleansing, balancing and energising exercise.
Using rainbow light is a good exercise once a week if you are very spiritually active or once a month.

Are we all ready to do the protection exercise?


Begin to pull white light up from deep in the earth. Bring it back up the roots, into the earth chakra beneath your feet. Connect with the colour and what it represents

White - Total and utter protection
Beginners: then send the white light through the centre of your body. until it comes out of the top of the crown, spilling over to surround your body in a bubble of white light.

Intermediate: then send it back up through the centre of your body, spinning the chakras again, (direction is your choice, there is no right/wrong) until it comes out of the top of the crown, spilling over to surround your body in a bubble of white light light.

You are now grounded and protected.
